Week 6 Tagging, Technocrati, Folksonomies
Can't say enough about Del.icio.us - the medical library I used to work for uses it, I use it on occasion - another great way to observe trends/emerging tools... folksonomy - whoWoDaThunk!
LibraryThing - I Like. I found many books on procrastination! Great browsing/social tool.

Week 5 MySpace and Social Networks
Libraries on myspace -- my initial reaction was: WHATthe?!
Staying relevant to our user (esp. youngsters) and being present in where the user is a very good reason to at least test the (virtual) water. Go KCLS!
OK, myspace: http://myspace.com/jacklibr3
so many people - so little time...mustfinishbloggg
Hope I've done this right (Don't know how to change my AIM??)

Learning 2.0 Week #4: RSS & Newsreaders
Bloglines rules. Glad it was recommended. The feeds are easy to set up and use. Now that I've had a few weeks to play with it, I would recommend this rss option to many of my family and friends that have specific information needs: car, politics, local news, outdoor etc...
I've used Stephen's Lighthouse and librarian.net in the past for all things libraries, it was an easy choice for my rss feed...

#23
You Tube's very user friendly. Simple layout tabs: Videos, Categories, Channels and Community keeps content clean and accessible. I've used this to find everything from Will Farrell's videos, to my friends surf/skate videos and new product reviews. Videos load much faster then real streaming videos of past. I LIKE.
#24
Podcast.net
Found some public library related podcasts - useful and relevant. It's a small world after all.
#25
Way to go KCLS for providing Overdrive! Interface great for browsing; ie: by what's new, fection, non-fiction etc... Also one can search by subject in advance search. I like.

Week 10 part 1.0
#22 (See Prior Blog)
#21 Google Lab - what can I say...
Google Ride Finder - For the Seattle area, I was able to locate Yellow Cab locations with real time info. Doesn't go anywhere from there ( Usefulness - Very Little, at this stage).
Google Trend - Nice. I searched for two random terms bio dieseland love , google trend gives chronological (nice chart) and break down of regions, language and city where the search was originated. The results are funny and surprising - try it!
#20 Online Software
google Docs - used it to collaborate a project with my co-worker. Nice. We had a to do list which we created and marked off (useful for keeping people in the loop & project mgmnt.)
zoho is quite a find. For comparison I tried the zoho sheet. equally user friendly - I also found some ready made templates, one which converts temperature (keeper).

#22 - Choose Your Own Adventure
Adventure du Jour is farecast at http://farecast.com/ . For air fare shopping, this site rocks! The layout and the presentation of the information is so intuitive that the site feels second nature.
Choice features:
-Color Coded Tip and Chart (Gives the direction of the current price, coming down or going up)
--Confidence level of their tip, in %
-Price range by airline
-Flight Duration
-Quality - Redeye (flights) etc..
-Airline comparison (by market share for the route!)
